Members of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have shown stiff opposition to the adoption report of the Conference Committee on the establishment of Nigerian Peace Corps. Samuel Abisai, 28, placed about $2 on two separate jackpot picks, betting firm SportsPesa says. An aviation crew member has been suspended by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, for testing positive to marijuana, PREMIUM TIMES has gathered. The crew member, whose identity wasn’t revealed by the agency, tested positive during random alcohol and drug tests on licensed aviation personnel, conducted by the agency. The Senate has stepped down the bill to establish the Nigerian Peace Corps, after lawmakers opposed its passage. The setback, Tuesday, followed the presentation of the committee on the bill chaired by Bayero Nafada. But rather than take votes for the bill’s passage for a third reading, senators, including deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, and minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, argued against its passage. The Osun Police Command has said that a suspected explosive device in a car stereo, chopped-off four fingers of an Osogbo resident, who attempted to dismantle the stereo from a damaged car. A Nigerian was arrested by City Task Force (CTF) police in the Visakhapatnam city for trying to smuggle dry ganja on Saturday night. Charles Chuks, 40, who came to India about 18 months ago on a business visa, was living in Hyderabad. He is the second Nigerian to be arrested for ganja smuggling within the space of a year. US President Donald Trump will speak with Russia’s Vladimir Putin by phone on Tuesday as the two leaders look to make headway on ties in the face of deep rifts over Syria and alleged hacking.
