Justin Bieber has cancelled the rest of his Purpose World Tour because of “unforeseen circumstances”, his publicist has said. The move will affect 14 dates in Asia and North America over the next three months. Bieber has performed more than 150 shows since the tour promoting his 2015 album Purpose began in March 2016. The tour grossed $93.2m (£71.5m) in the first half of 2017, with an average of almost 40,000 ticket sales per date. A 47-year-old herbalist identified as Ifawale Ibrahim has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court sitting in Lagos for allegedly duping three friends of N3.61m under the pretense of performing money rituals. A former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), has begged former President Olusegun Obasanjo to look for “young and vibrant leaders” to run the political affairs of the country. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that Nigeria’s economy will grow at a faster pace than the South Africa’s in the 2018 fiscal year. According to its World Economic Outlook (WEO) for July 2017, the IMF said Nigeria will grow at 1.9 percent in 2018, while South Africa will only climb by 1.2 percent. The parents of terminally ill baby Charlie Gard have ended their legal challenge to take him to the US for experimental treatment. A lawyer representing Chris Gard and Connie Yates told the High Court “time had run out” for the baby. A leading French philosopher who advocated risk-taking has drowned after attempting to save two children at a beach on the French Riviera. Anne Dufourmantelle entered the water after the children got into difficulty in strong winds at Pampelonne beach, near St Tropez, on Friday. The two children were later rescued by lifeguards and were unharmed. The French culture minister, Françoise Nyssen, said Dufourmantelle was a “great philosopher who helped us live”.
