Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari returned home on Saturday after spending more than 100 days in London receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. His plane touched down around 4:35 pm at the international airport in Abuja. Wearing a black caftan with a cap to match, the 74-year-old left the aircraft unaided and was met by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other senior government officials, including ministers, security chiefs and state governors.

White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is the latest top aide of President Donald Trump to leave his post. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed that Friday was his last day. His exit follows a review of his position by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly. A state senator from Missouri is being investigated by the US Secret Service for saying she hopes President Donald Trump will be assassinated. Democratic state senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal posted the comment on Facebook but later deleted it. The Secret Service has confirmed they are “looking into the comments” and say “all threats against the President” will be investigated. Nigeria’s capital city, Lagos has been named the world’s second worst city to live in by The Economist. In its Global Liveability Report for 2017 (paywall), only the war-torn Syrian city of Damascus ranks below Nigeria’s commercial capital. Top of the pile was Melbourne in Australia. Obinna Obioha, a Nigerian hacker has been jailed for 51 months by a New York federal judge for operating a fraud scheme that swindled $6.5 million from businesses in the US and elsewhere.
