Tottenham have secured the services of defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax for a club-record fee. The 21-year-old Colombia international completed a medical and all relevant paperwork on Wednesday afternoon and now just needs a work permit to officially become a Spurs player. A closed circuit TV (cctv ) footage of a yet to be identified nanny abusing a fragile infant has gone viral. In the video, the baby is seen crying pitifully while the nanny pushes her around and slaps her across the face severally. The incident reportedly took place in New Jersey. The police command in Nasarawa State has confirmed the abduction of a former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr Hussaini Akwanga. Akwanga served during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo but was removed on Dec. 4, 2003, following an alleged 214 million dollar national identity card scam. The spokesman of the Nasarawa State Police Command, DSP. Kennedy Idirisu, who confirmed the abduction in Lafia on Wednesday, said that Akwanga was kidnapped by gunmen at his farm on Wamba Road in Akwanga on Aug. 22. Twenty awaiting trial prisoners have escaped after a group of armed men ambushed their vehicle while en route to prison. Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said on Wednesday the prisoners were being transported back to “Sun City” prison, south of Johannesburg, after appearing in court on Tuesday afternoon. The truck was ambushed on Pat Mbatha Road near the Southgate train station by a group of men armed with rifles. Dlamini said the men broke a lock to the truck, and freed the prisoners.
