The Federal Government has finally asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to revoke the bail granted the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Mr. Namdi Kanu, who is being prosecuted along with others on treasonable felony charges. Stella Oduah, an aspirant in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra, has threatened withdrawal from the race, alleging irregularities in Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) build-up to the primary election. Texas is bracing itself for Hurricane Harvey – the worst storm to hit the US mainland in 12 years. The category-two hurricane, currently in the Gulf of Mexico, is expected to make landfall along the state’s central coast on Friday night. The Philippines’ labour department on Friday issued an order banning private companies from demanding female employees to wear high-heeled shoes at work.
