The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has said that all transactions executed on digital currency platform, eNaira, will be free for next 90 days. The apex bank said after the 90-day period applicable charges by banks and other financial and non-financial institutions will be implemented. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have intercepted 2,060 kilogrammes of drugs, including heroin, methamphetamine, cannabis, tramadol and rohypnol. The drugs were reportedly seized in Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Kano, Kaduna and Plateau states. The agency said two consignments of heroin weighing 4.40kg and 550 grams were intercepted on October 6 and 15, respectively, at the cargo shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Sudan’s military seized power from a transitional government on Monday and a health ministry official said seven people were killed by gunfire and 140 injured in clashes between soldiers and street protesters. 17 persons have been reportedly killed by a group of unidentified gunmen after they attacked two communities in Niger state. The incident was cinfirmed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane on Monday. While three residents were injured during the attack, 18 other villagers are yet to be accounted. Many believe they were kidnapped by the assailants. The affected villages – MazaKuka and Kulhu villages – are located in Mashegu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
