About 86,000 fake orphanages are reportedly operating within the 25 local government areas of Delta State. This figure was released at the weekend by a group of ‘church ministers’ who alleged that they have in the last two years paid a visit to the various orphanage homes across the state. The Kogi State Government has reacted to media reports on the suicide of late director, Edward Soje who was found hanging on a tree behind the army barracks in Lokoja, the state capital. Deborah Ogunmola, Kogi State Head of Service said the state government is saddened in no small measure by the alleged suicide of Mr. Edward Soje, a level 16 officer and director in the Kogi State Civil Service. Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has said it is an act of mental laziness for university operators to rely on subvention from the owners and burden the students with humongous tuition fees.
