David Petzer has resigned as the Chief Finance Officer of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc with effect from 19 February 2018. In a statement signed by Abiola Laseinde, the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Petzer resigned to pursue personal goals. “This follows his decision to pursue other personal endeavours. Petzer joined PZ on 1 September 2012,” the statement said. Laseinde stated that the company has appointed Pedro Barreto as the new Chief Finance Officer. Security forces have blocked off the roads near the site of the attack

Militants have attacked an army base near a military academy in the Afghan capital, Kabul, killing at least five soldiers. A defence ministry spokesman told the BBC that 10 other Afghan soldiers were injured. Five militants were involved, said the spokesman. Four were killed in the attack, but one was arrested. The attack has been claimed by the Islamic State (IS), according to the militant group’s Amaq news agency. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the introduction of a contactless biometric capture system for driver’s license issuance, marking a significant shift toward digitalization in Nigeria’s motor vehicle administration.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Akwa Ibom Sector Command, arrested 361 traffic offenders and convicted 144, for violating various traffic rules during its end of year special operations. The Sector Commander, Mr Sunday Oghenekaro, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Uyo on Sunday. Oghenekaro however said that all the convicts were given options of fine, depending on the offence committed.
