Akon has a big agenda and it starts with the release a new cryptocurrency named after himself – called Akoin. Speaking at the Cannes Lions Festival on Monday, the Locked Up singer said he believed cryptocurrency could be “the saviour of Africa”. A court in Indonesia has found a cleric guilty of masterminding a 2016 terror attack in Jakarta which left four civilians dead. He has been sentenced to death. Aman Aburrahman was convicted of planning the attack which saw a suicide bomber blow himself up at a Starbucks. The cleric, who had declared his support for the Islamic State (IS), is also the spiritual leader of a local extremist network. The 2016 attack was the first linked to IS in Indonesia. The European Union (EU) has retaliated by introducing tariffs on US goods in fresh attack on President Donald Trump’s trade policy. Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing of US rapper XXXTentacion. The suspect, named as Dedrick D Williams, 22, is facing a charge of first-degree murder. The 20-year-old rapper, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot as he left a motorcycle dealership in south Florida on Monday and died later in hospital.
