Court dismisses Sani Abacha family’s N500m suit against Nigerian govt over Abuja property

The money looted by Nigeria’s former military dictator Sani Abacha is to be distributed to poor families, the Nigerian government has said. The government is expected to commence disbursement of the recovered $322 million Abacha loot through Conditional Cash Transfers, CCT, to 302,000 poor households in 19 states. The distribution which starts next month is a deviation from the original plan by the government to use the recovered loot to address health and education problems. At least 10 person have been reported dead in an accident that occurred on Kaduna-Kano expressway, Northern Nigeria on Saturday.
