Nigerian lawmakers voted on Tuesday to investigate the state oil firm over a shortfall in revenue remittances to government coffers, in a motion passed by the lower house of parliament. Last month, Nigeria’s finance minister called the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC’s) payments to the government account “unacceptable”, as they were less than expected in light of higher crude oil prices. Those publicly-raised concerns triggered Tuesday’s vote by the House of Representatives to probe NNPC, which noted an “under remittance of about 100 billion naira ($327.65 million).” The house resolved to establish an ad-hoc committee to investigate crude oil sales…

Like Nigeria, the United States have also suffered a dent but China is on the rise globally and so is South Africa and Kenya. China joined the world’s top 20 most innovative economies for the first time while the United States fell out of the five top-ranked countries, according…

Its draft guidelines detail how best to spot and treat MG. What is MG? Mycoplasma genitalium is a bacterium that can cause inflammation of the urethra in men, causing discharge from the penis…
The UK’s data protection watchdog intends to fine Facebook £500,000 for data breaches – the maximum allowed. The ICO will also bring a criminal action against Cambridge Analytica’s defunct parent company SCL Elections. And it has raised concerns about political parties buying personal information from “data brokers”. Specifically it named one company, used by the Labour Party, called Emma’s Diary, a company that gives medical advice and free baby-themed goods to parents.
