A 20-year-old security guard, Joseph Tioko, on Monday appeared in a Karu Grade I Area Court, Abuja,  for allegedly stealing a cow. Tioko, who resides in Karu, Abuja, was arraigned for a count charge of theft. The Prosecution Counsel, Vincent Osuji, told the court that the complainant, Abubakar Rabo, a herder, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, on Aug. 18. Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), has expressed dismay over the falling standard of education in the country with a call for all hands to be on deck to improve it. Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi has approved the appointment of 180 additional aides to serve as Executive Assistants (EA) as Executive Assistant and Senior technical Assistant (STA). Gov. Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state has called on the state police Commissioner, Mr Amba Asuquo, to expose those behind the killing of two students of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) during a protest. The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) says that the utilisation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), also known as cooking gas, has risen from 40,000 metric tonnes (MT) in April to 78,000 metric tonnes in July. The Executive Secretary of PPPRA, Mr Abdulkadir Saidu, disclosed this in statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja. He said that the rise was a reflection of the fact that the combined efforts of government, industry operators and regulators in deepening LPG penetration was beginning to pay off. The Akwa Ibom Police Command has confirmed that three persons were killed in a cult clash between Axe and Vikings confraternities in Onna Local Government area of the state.
