A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the forfeiture of two properties in Ikoyi belonging to former Senate President and ex-governor of Kwara state, Bukola Saraki. Justice Mohammed Liman made the temporary forfeiture order following an ex parte application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The EFCC said the landed property “lying and known as No. 17A McDonald Road, Ikoyi,” was reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activity. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 16 for fresh Kogi West Senatorial election between Senator Dino Melaye of PDP and Senator Smart Adeyemi of the APC. Senate President Ahmad Lawan said on Monday that it was sheer misrepresentation of fact to say that journalists were not allowed to cover the budget defence sessions going on at the National Assembly. A diabetologist (a specialist in treatment of diabetes), Mr Chima Adindu, of the Apex Diabetics Center, Jos, has blamed the rise in Type 2 diabetes among children on poor diet mentality and sedentary lifestyle. The management of Kano Zoological Garden said the escaped lion in its custody has finally been captured and returned to its cage. The Managing Director of the Zoo, Alhaji Saidu Gwadabe, confirmed the capture of the lion in an interview with NAN in Kano on Monday. The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Musa Rambo, the Police Area Commander in Suleja. Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, said the ACP was abducted on Saturday at about 3.30pm. Sabo said on Sunday in Kaduna that the police officer’s car with registration number KRD 753 BT and his ID card were found abandoned along the road by a team of Operation Safe Heaven.
