A Saudi Arabian court has convicted 38 people of terrorism-related crimes, state-run Al Ekhbariya television reported on Tuesday.

The Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has declared Friday November 15, as public holiday for all schools in the state. A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Eric Aina, directed all public and private schools to proceed on holiday from Nov. 15, 2019, towards the Nov. 16 elections in the state. According to Aina, the break is to ensure that all students and pupils are united with their families during the election. The police on Tuesday arraigned a businesswoman, Lovina Chukwuekezi, 34, in a  Magistrates’ Court in Ojo, Lagos for allegedly biting off her apprentice’s cheek. The police charged Chuwuekezi along with her husband, Patrick, 51, with five counts of conspiracy, provocation, causing bodily harm, assault and neglect. The Prosecutor, Inspector Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on October 24 at the Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, Lagos. The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, disqualified the Deputy Governorship Candidate, All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo in Bayelsa State, over false information given in his CF0001 Form submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the November 16 election. Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a judgment, said Degi-Eremienyo gave false information in relation to his educational qualifications and went ahead to depose to an affidavit to correct the discrepancies. Visa Inc plans to acquire a “significant minority” stake in payments platform Interswitch, the Nigeria-based company said on Tuesday. Interswitch did not provide financial details in its statement but a source confirmed media reports that Visa would buy a 20% stake for $200 million. That would value Interswitch at $1 billion, giving it “unicorn” status – a term for tech companies with a valuation of a billion dollars or more.
