A former Minister of Information in Nigeria, Chief Alex Akinyele, is dead, family sources say. A statement by one of his sons, Constantine Akinfolarin Akinyele, confirmed that the Ondo chief passed away Thursday night after a brief illness. Akinyele was a trained public relations specialist. According to his Wikipedia page, Akinyele was born in Ondo town to a father who was a teacher but later served in the West African Frontier Force during World War II.
