Paxherbal is a clinic and a research laboratory, also known as Pax Herbal Clinic and Research Laboratory, a Nigerian alternative medicine product manufacturing company. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that 220 COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Saturday as coronavirus pandemic increases across the country. This takes the total of confirmed cases to 2388. The Centre for Disease Control also reported that 34 patients were discharged and 17 deaths recorded on Saturday. Lagos accounted for 62 cases while the Federal Capital Territory recorded 52 while Kaduna recorded 31. The Emir of Rano, in Kano State, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila Auta Bawo is dead. The emir died on Saturday at a hospital in Kano at the age of 74. Turakin Rano and House of Representatives Member of Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure , Alhaji Kabir Alhassan Rururm confirmed the death. He said the late emir would be buried this evening in the emirate. Oyo State recorded six new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 238 cases recorded on Friday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), bringing the number of cases recorded to 29.

The US’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorised the emergency use of the Ebola drug remdesivir for treating the coronavirus. The authorisation means the anti-viral drug can now be used on people who are hospitalised with severe Covid-19. A recent clinical trial showed the drug helped shorten the recovery time for people who were seriously ill. But emergency FDA authorisation is not the same as formal approval, which requires a higher level of review. Kim Jong-un has appeared in public for the first time in 20 days, North Korean state media says showing pictures of him at the public function. KCNA news agency reports that the North Korean leader cut the ribbon at the opening of a fertiliser factory. Media magnate and founder of Daar Communications Plc, owners of Raypower FM and Africa International Television (AIT), Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has tested positive for COVID-19. His daughter-in-law and three grandchildren as well as four other relations also tested positive.
