Pay television company, Multichoice Nigeria, has dismissed reports that it is set to increase subscription rates for its DStv and GOtv packages from 1 June. The company explained that the price adjustments it recently announced, which take effect from 1 June, is to reflect the increase in the rate of the Value Added Tax (VAT) by 2.5 % from 5% to 7.5% by the Federal Government. The Dutch government has issued new guidance to single people seeking intimacy during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, advising them to find a “sex buddy”. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) says singletons should come to an arrangement with one other person. But pairings should avoid sex if one of them suspects they have coronavirus, the advice says. The guidance comes after critics said there was no sex advice for singles. The naira on Thursday exchanged at N450 to  dollar at the parallel market as build up on dollar demand continued to rise. The naira is seen weakening on the black market as dollar demand rises from foreign investors and importers with payment obligations accumulated amid hard currency shortages triggered by an oil price crash, traders said. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 288 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday. The 288 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 5445. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 140 patients from isolation centers across the country and four deaths were also reported.
