China is proposing to introduce a new security law in Hong Kong that could ban sedition, secession and treason. The move is likely to provoke strong opposition internationally and in Hong Kong, which last year saw months of pro-democracy protests. Senate President Ahmad Lawan has distributed food palliatives to thousands of residents in the six local government areas of Yobe North Senatorial District in the State. The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has advised Nigerians to be wary of fraudsters using the raging coronavirus pandemic to defraud unsuspecting victims. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 284 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday. The 284 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 6677. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 106 patients from isolation centers across the country and eight deaths were also reported.
