Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar won the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election in Osun State.
Abubakar won the contest with 12,321 votes, defeating Hayatu-Deen Muhammed, who received 4,000.
Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, finished third with 679 votes.
The findings announced by the committee in charge of the exercise show that Atiku won in all 30 local government areas across the state.
According to a statement signed by Osun ADC spokesperson Oluwaseun Abosede and received in Osogbo on Tuesday, Olusola Adepoju, head of the electoral commission that handled the primary, declared the results of the exercise.
Abosede’s statement further read, “Atiku Abubakar won the entire 30 LGAs in the state.
“He polled 12,321 out of 17,000 total votes cast in the primary. He was followed by Hayatu Deen MUHAMMED with over 4,000 votes, while Rotimi Amaechi polled 679 votes.”
