Eric Chimara, a social media user, has alleged that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), recruited several political influencers to constantly attack Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election.
Chimera alleged in his statement on X on Monday that the constant attacks against Obi by the APC are because they know that the former governor of Anambra State “actually won” the election.
He added that “they have the real results” of the election, which is why they “attacked the candidate who came “third” in the last election instead of the closest rival who came second.”
Obi has been the subject of criticism from several quarters, especially from Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar 2023 campaign, and also from Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.
In his statement, Chimaera asked, “Do you know why the ruling party has recruited and mobilized all hands available to constantly attack the candidate who came ‘third’ in the last election instead of the closest rival who came second?
“They have the real results and know who won.”
He also alleged that “Till date, the INEC officer for Lagos, Mr. Agbaje, has refused to hand over the real results where they were beaten like a drum with 1.5 million votes. They didn’t even get 25 percent in Lagos.”
