Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo was buried in his hometown of Ujari, in the Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia state on Thursday, amidst tears, emotions, and encomiums.
It was a gathering of mourners, including renowned Nollywood actors and actresses who traveled from all over the country to honor the late actor, whose career spanned more than a decade.
Speaking at the event, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, described Ekubo’s death as a major loss for Abia State, the Nigerian entertainment industry, and millions of his followers throughout the world.
Otti described the late actor as a cultural ambassador who portrayed the image of Abia State and Nigeria on a worldwide scale.
“The news of Alex’s passing came as a profound shock. Today, we mourn not merely an actor, brother, and friend, but a creative force, a cultural ambassador, and a proud son of Arochukwu whose talent brought honor to Abia State and Nigeria,” he said.
Preaching at the burial service, Pastor Eno Eze, the lead pastor of Streams of Joy International in Umuahia, exhorted the living to focus on leaving lasting legacies, emphasizing that the true measure of life is not its duration but its impact on others.
She encouraged mourners to conduct purposeful lives of good impact and service, emphasizing that people are ultimately remembered for the principles they uphold and the lives they touch.
