Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has announced that he will finally be releasing a song with his former record label boss Olamide, years after leaving YBNL Nation.
The singer shared a post on his Instagram on Monday, revealing what appears to be their first official track together.
The post announced the title of the project as ‘Formation’ and is scheduled to be released on April 9.
“First time, me and @olamide… Formation. April 9,” Gold wrote.
The music star first gained recognition with his hit track ‘Sade’, a highlife cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’ in 2015.
He was officially signed to YBNL that same year, and released his debut album ‘Gold’.
He later exited the record label after his contract had expired.
In July 2024, Gold expressed his gratitude to Olamide for seeing beyond his skills as a graphic designer and welcoming him into the YBNL family.
In December 2024, the ‘Something Different’ hitmaker revealed how YBNL signed him. He recalled that his breakthrough came after Pheelz, the renowned music producer, heard his song ‘Sade’ and decided to share it with Olamide.
The singer, born Adekunle Kosoko, added that Olamide listened to the track and did not hesitate to sign him.
Olamide, on the other hand, said he founded YBNL in 2012 to avoid extravagant spending.
