Nigerian comedienne Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, has reacted to the release of actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, urging the Lagos State government and the Department of Justice to include his name on the sex offender register.

The comedienne made the appeal during a live Instagram session on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

She said, “I want to urge the Lagos State Government and the Department of Justice to please publish his name in the sex offenders register,” adding that she would be waiting for an update on the matter.

Reacting to claims that Baba Ijesha was pardoned, Princess clarified that the actor was released after serving his full prison term.

She stated, “No matter how much it hurt me, I have not hoarded any information; Baba Ijesha is now a convict… Nobody freed him.”

She expressed relief that schools, hostels, landlords, and the general public are now aware of his criminal activities.

Prior to the live stream, Princess shared a video in which she appears as a caricature of herself, raising awareness against child abuse.

In the video, she said, “Hi, my name is Princess, and I believe that children should be loved, protected, and provided for. If you know any child who has been abused mentally, physically, or sexually, please DM me at Princess Damilola Foundation on Instagram. Thank you, we need to look out for ourselves.”

Baba Ijesha was reportedly released from prison following a Court of Appeal decision that overturned his conviction for sexual assault on a juvenile.

On Friday, actor Yomi Fabiyi posted six points about the case with the caption: “You are now officially free and out.” Baba Ijesha is not just back but better.

An unconfirmed viral video posted on Saturday shows Baba Ijesha sitting in a vehicle shortly after his release, expressing relief and stating that he needed to recuperate.

Princess accused Baba Ijesha of sexually abusing her 14-year-old foster daughter.

He is accused of touching and fondling the minor, according to footage from the CCTV she supposedly set.

In July 2022, a Lagos court sentenced him to 16 years in prison after finding him guilty on various counts, including indecent treatment of a kid and sexual assault.
