Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to disrupt a national summit of opposition political parties.

The event is being held today, April 25, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will chair discussions, while former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is already en route.

In a statement on Saturday morning, Abdullahi said the APC has been working to disrupt the event.

“We have uncovered plans by the ruling APC to disrupt the summit being held by opposition parties in Ibadan, Oyo State, today, 25th of April,” Abdullahi wrote on X.

“After denying us the use of venues in Abuja, they now will not leave us alone to hold our meetings.

“They say they are not scared, but they are behaving like people who are terrified.

“But we will not be deterred, because we are on the side of the Nigerian people.”

The summit, tagged ‘National Summit of All Opposition Political Party Leaders’, is scheduled for 10am at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Ibadan.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is the host.

The summit has as its theme: ‘That We May Work Together for a United Opposition to Sustain Our Democracy.’

Keynote speakers include Chidi Odinkalu, Usman Bugaje, Mike Igini, Pat Utomi, and Kabir Adamu.

Earlier this month, the ADC said it was denied access to the Eagle Square and Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja for its convention.

The party later announced the Rainbow Event Centre as its alternative venue. Abdullahi also alleged that the facility management was pressured to cancel the booking.
