The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Ibrahim Garba has stated categorically that Senator Dino Melaye graduated from the institution with a BA in Geography.
Garba who honoured an invitation from the Senate after Melaye was accused of not graduating said he did graduate.
Melaye, who represents West Senatorial District has been in the middle of accusations and counter-accusations over his tertiary school certificate.
Melaye who appeared before the Senate ethics committee on allegations he did not graduate from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria admitted under oath that he graduated from the institution.
Melaye who presented documents to ethics committee which included his acceptance letter, acceptance of offer of admission, result from ABU, final year project.
Melaye who graduated as Daniel Jonah Melaye said he changed his name.
He said he officially changed his name from Daniel Melaye to Dino Melaye and he is ready to tender an affidavit to support it.
“Yes. From records, Dino formerly known as Daniel Jonah Melaye graduated from ABU. BA Geography” statement by VC of Ahmad Bello University,” Garba told the Senate.
The VC who reiterated that Melaye graduated as Daniel Jonah Melaye with a BA in Geography and a Third Class.
Asked why he did not have his original certificate, Melaye said he was yet to collect certificate from ABU but promised to do so.
