Suspected cultists have beheaded a student of Kwara state polytechnic in Ilorin.

The victim’s head was found in a public place around Challenge on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the deceased who was identified simply as Olawale was a phone repairer at Challenge phone market, Ilorin.

“Olawale left home past eight on Monday morning.

“But when he didn’t return on time which was unusual of him, I called his number several times but there was no response.

“We reported the matter at the ‘A’ Division police station and also went to his school and searched hospitals if perhaps he had an accident.

“However, it was while searching for him that we saw some persons gathered around a spot along Unity taking pictures. It turned out to be the severed head of my son”, his mother said as she struggled to hold back her tears.
