    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal Office Thursday January 21, 2012 secured the conviction of one Hassan Shuaibu Musa before Justice Mohammed Tukur of the State High Court, Kaduna on one count criminal charge of forgery and obtaining money by false pretense to the tune of eleven million naira (N11,000,000.00).

    Trouble began for Hassan when the Kaduna zonal office of the Commission received a petition by one Yahaya Mohammad Idris who alleged that sometime in August 2020 he bought a land for eleven million naira (N11, 000,000.00).

    But, when he went to develop the land someone claimed ownership which was confirmed to be true following a search at Kaduna Geographical Information Service, KADGIS.

    The count reads: “that you Hassan Shuaibu Musa sometime in August, 2020 in Kaduna within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did cheat one Yahaya Mohammad Idris by pretending you had a good title to the property known as Plot No.24 Block PD, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Road, (TPO. 883A Revised) Kaduna Millennium City Layout which made him part with the sum of N11,000,000.00( Eleven Million Naira ) only and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 306 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017 and punishable under section 307 of the same Law”.

    • Ilorin court sends “Holy Ghost” to prison

    The defendant, pleaded guilty to the charge, prompting the EFCC counsel Esmond K. Garba and Jamil Musa to ask the court to convict and sentence him accordingly.

    Counsel to the defendant, N. S. Dantala however prayed the court to temper justice with mercy as his client was a first time offender.

    Justice Tukur, convicted and sentenced him to ten years imprisonment with an option of One Hundred Thousand Naira fine.
