    Nigeria surpasses 60,000 coronavirus cases with 111 new infections

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday announced 111 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country, passing the 60,000 mark.

    The 111 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 60,103.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 70 patients from isolation centers across the country with two new deaths reported.

    Plateau state recorded the highest number of new infections with the announcement of 32 new cases.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 23 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19909.

    • Nigeria announces 151 new coronavirus cases

    The Federal Capital Territory reported 15 new cases, Osun recorded 11 while Ogun state announced 9 new cases.

    Other states are Oyo-6, Imo-4, Bauchi-3, Kaduna-3, Yobe-3 and Rivers-2.

    NCDC reports that there are 60,103 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 51,711 discharged and 1,115 deaths.
