All talks and rumours about the well being and state of health of President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s number one citizen can be put to rest now.

Buhari who is in London on a medical vacation showed his face in public when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the former national chairman of the party visited him in London on Thursday, 9 February.

The trio were captured in front of the Nigerian House in the United Kingdom and the picture has quickly circulated on social media.

The picture does not only confirm that President Buhari is alive but it also dispels the rumour that Tinubu and President Buhari are no longer allies.

There were rumours in the past that claimed that Tinubu has fallen out with President Buhari. The reports claimed that the party structure and government formation did not suit Tinubu who wanted more powers in the government.

The Federal Government has said on more than three occasions that President Buhari is in good health and is only carrying out medical test in the UK.

Buhari who had earlier notified the national assembly that he will be traveling for weeks between January 23 and February 6, extended his leave by further two weeks.

In another letter, President Buhari informed the national assembly of his leave extension. His letter was read on the floor by the Senate spokesperson, Sen. Aliyu Sabi.

“In this second letter he is informing the senate that he is extending his vacation because in the cause of that routine medical check up they were still some test his doctors still want to run,” Sabi said.

He added that: “This is a constitutional provision and let me say it is within his prerogative to do so and we are in receipt of that letter accordingly.

This is why we had to brief you so that we are now confirming that yes we are in receipt of that letter formally and we know that many things have been going on but this is our formal and official pronouncements to Nigeria on this particular subject matter,” he said.

Recall that the Presidency on Sunday released a statement that the vacation of the President had been extended and a letter sent to the National Assembly to that effect.

However, some people doubted the authenticity of the letter which prompted the Senate to confirm the receipt of the letter.
