Mr Ola Olukoyede, the suspended Executive Secretary to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) never worked for SimmonsCooper Partners, records have shown.

The records negate a Twitter message released by a certain Jackson Ude, alleging that Mr Ola Olukoyede, the Secretary to the EFCC, once worked for SimmonsCooper Partners, former law firm of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

“It has been discovered that such an allegation is not only false but also an attempt at discrediting the person of Ola Olukoyede, which accordingly, he has disregarded and treated as a propaganda aimed at mischief,” Eze said.

The EFCC Secretary has affirmed that there was never a time he stepped or walked into the office of SimmonsCoopers, let alone work for the law firm.

This position is further buttressed in the career profile and curriculum vitae he submitted to the Senate during his confirmation hearing in November, 2018.

According to the submission, Ola Olukoyede worked for a finance and investment company, Ecodev Investment, as an Investment Officer for about five years before he started his law career with LRCDP Consulting (Legal Research and Corporate Development Projects) as a research partner, where he acted as consultant and managed corporate intelligence portfolio with a number of high profile organisations, including financial institutions and law enforcement agencies, beginning from 2002.

In 2008, he established Global Compliance GRC, governance, risk and legal consulting outfit, where he led and managed as an attorney for Investigation and Civil Litigations of fraud and corruption in international aid projects.

For several years, even before the establishment of SimmonsCoopers Partners, Olukoyede has been involved in the development and implementation of strategic policy documents for operations, legal and administrative units of various anti-corruption agencies, including the EFCC, as a trainer and consultant.

Also, in the same 2008, he established his law firm, Ola Olukoyede  & Co, from where he joined EFCC.
