    Nigeria COVID-19 passes 20,000 with 436 new cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 436 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday taking the new total past 20,000 cases.

    The 436 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is now put at 20244.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 161 patients from isolation centers across the country with 12 new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 169 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 8576.

    • Nigeria announces 661 new coronavirus cases

    Oyo state recorded 52 new cases, Plateau reported 31 new cases while Imo, Kaduna and Ogun had 29, 28 and 23 new cases respectively.

    Other states are FCT-18, Enugu-18, Bauchi-17, Bayelsa-14, Rivers-8, Osun-6, Kano-6, Edo-5, Benue-5, Adamawa-3, Borno-2, Abia-1 and Ekiti-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 20,244 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 6879 discharged and 518 deaths.
