The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has accused the Nigerian government of prosecuting his son in-law and lawyer because they supported him at the polls.

The duo were arrested differently by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency for questioning and are yet to be released.

In a tweet to raise alarm over their arrest, Mr. Abubakar claimed that the government was victiming them because of their association to him.

“My son in-law and lawyer have been detained, one for three weeks and the other recently,” he said in his tweet.

“They are paying the price for supporting me. I urge those now persecuting them to remember that a government’s mandate is to pursue peace and justice for all, and not just those who support them,” he claimed.
