    Group commends Ambode, vows support for second term

    The All Professional Arise Initiative (APAI) has commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode

    The All Professional Arise Initiative (APAI) has lauded the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for the giant strides he has achieved since 2015.

    The group said they decided to throw their weight behind the governor because of his vision to position the commercial city as the leading economic and tourist destination.

    Speaking to journalists on Thursday, President of the group, Samuel Adeniyi-Tiamiu explained that the has improved the road network, improved agriculture, boosted education and has given entrepreneurs a conducive environment to thrive.

    “Governor Ambode is the model for the modern-day politician and for those inspiring to contest elections. He has changed the mindset of many Lagosians and many Nigerians as well.

    Adeniyi-Tiamiu noted that road construction projects ongoing at Apapa, Oshodi, Agege and Abeokuta expressway are a testament to the lofty projects of the governor.

    “On Easter Sunday, he commissioned over 21 roads and four bridges including those at Agbado Oke-Odo. These roads link up to Ogun state, therefore boosting commerce and other businesses.

    “Lagos has had its share of infrastructural deficit but the growth rate under Mr Ambode’s leadership shows foresight to drive the state forward.

    “The world class bus terminal in Ikeja and the modern buses on the road of Lagos makes Lagos the pride of Africa.

    “The governor has opened up Lagos like never before with the road projects. Once they are complete, Lagosians will think they abroad. The port at Apapa will be freed up and same will be applicable to the congestion and Oshodi leading up to Ladipo.

    Adeniyi-Tiamiu identified the agricultural progress that has been made in the State. “The introduction of Lake Rice did not only reduce the importation of illegally imported rice into Lagos but it provided massive employment.

    “If you go to Imota, Lekki, Ajah and even Badagry you will see the level of progress that have been attained in the State.

    He explained APAI is a group made up of professionals from different works of life who have identified with the vision of Governor Ambode.

    “APAI is a group of professionals who believe that you don’t have to travel abroad to be successful. With the right leaders, right vision, right infrastructure we can make Lagos and even Nigeria one of the most sought tourist destinations in the world.

    He stated that the group is supporting Governor Ambode for second term because he has earned it. “For those who have not been to Lagos for years, when they come they marvel. They barely can recognize the state.

    “The governor has brought world class ideas and translated it into works. You can go to bed with your eyes closed because the governor has stepped up security. We now have police vehicles stationed at strategic places.

    “Our kids can attend world class public schools because the governor has revamped this schools. He has earned his second term in office and I want to believe majority of Lagosians will agree with me.
