Lionel Messi keeps rewriting football history, raising his remarkable career total to 937 goals and 428 assists after contributing a goal and an assist in Inter Miami’s 2–1 win over New England Revolution.
The Argentine superstar once again showed his remarkable influence, playing a decisive part in Inter Miami’s comeback victory on November 1.
As football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated on X, “Lionel Messi reached 937 career goals and 428 career assists by delivering a goal and an assist for Inter Miami overnight.”
Messi set up Germán Berterame’s equalizer in the 69th minute, then scored himself in the 83rd to complete the turnaround and secure all three points for Inter Miami.
The performance added yet another remarkable chapter to the 39-year-old’s legendary career, bringing him closer to the historic 1,000-goal milestone.
With 937 career goals already to his name, Messi is now just 63 goals short of 1,000, while his 428 assists further highlight his extraordinary contribution as both a goalscorer and a creator.
Even at this stage of his career, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner keeps producing decisive performances and showing why he remains one of football’s greatest-ever players.
At 937 goals and counting, the question is no longer whether Messi has achieved greatness, but just how many more records he can break before calling time on his remarkable career.
