A man who said he is the uncle of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings, has demanded an impartial investigation into the singer’s death, warning against any interference or efforts to conceal details about the incident.
Lawal Ademola made this appeal during an interview with Dunmininu Kingdom that was posted on Facebook on Monday.
He called on the government, community leaders, and law enforcement authorities to make sure the investigation is carried out fairly and that no one is victimized or protected from scrutiny.
“Please help us, our elders, as we seek a proper investigation into the death of Sodiq. You who are the government, our leaders, and the law, please enforce the law and empower the investigation so that there won’t be biased judgments or victimization.
“Nobody should interfere or try to cover things up regarding Sodiq, because this has deeply affected us,” he said.
In a different video, the man described his visit to Toluwanisings’ house, where he said some family members were watching television when he got there.
He also described a disagreement about how Toluwanisings should be buried, saying he wanted the singer laid to rest in the house where he had lived with his wife and children.
According to him, the wife was against the idea, saying she could not bear to see her husband’s corpse in the house every day, especially with the children there.
The man said the disagreement went on as other relatives suggested taking the body to Ikirun for burial, but the wife objected to that option as well, calling the location too far.
The man called Toluwani Sings Sodiq, the name he was given at birth in his Muslim family.
The circumstances surrounding Toluwani Sings’ death, including his family’s confirmation of his death on October 14, 2026, and allegations that he was taken to eight hospitals before he died.
