A councillor who represents Ogugu Ward III in the Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Rosemary Aduku, is said to have passed away after being held captive for several days.
Her passing was made known on Friday by the Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Dr. Ameh Williams, through a statement released on behalf of the Olamaboro Executive Council.
Aduku, widely referred to as Hon. Rosella by her colleagues, was remembered as a humble, reliable, and caring politician who devoted herself to the joy and welfare of those around her.
In the statement that announced her death and burial plans, Williams voiced profound grief over the loss, calling the late councillor an exceptional person whose service to her community and colleagues would never be forgotten.
The statement read, “It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden demise of our dear sister and colleague, Hon. Mrs. Rosemary Aduku, the Honourable Councillor representing the good people of Ogugu Ward III in the 8th Olamaboro Legislative Council.”
The council chairman stated that Aduku was widely respected for her humility, reliability, and positive disposition towards others.
“Hon. Rosella, as she is fondly called among her colleagues in the council and members of the Olamaboro Executive Council, has been a wonderful soul and down-to-earth.
“She has been a reliable fellow whose idea is to make everyone around her happy. Though your life was short-lived, we will definitely take solace in your legacies and testimonies we have received since your demise,” the statement added.
Williams also expressed his sympathy to the grieving family, the members of the Olamaboro Legislative Council, the Executive Council, and the entire Ogugu community for their loss.
“Adieu, Hon. Mrs. Rosemary Aduku,” the statement concluded.
