The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2027 general election.
INEC said interested applicants can apply through its INECPRES platform, with the application window scheduled to close at midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
The commission announced the activation of the portal in a public notice, urging eligible Nigerians interested in serving as election personnel to complete their applications within the specified period.
INEC ad hoc staff recruitment portal
According to the notice, the INECPRES portal was activated at 8am on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The official INECPRES registration portal confirms that the exercise is currently active and is specifically for engagement of election staff for the 2027 general elections.
Applicants can access the web version of the portal through pres.inecnigeria.org.
INEC also provides mobile access for applicants using Android devices.
The commission advised interested applicants to use only the designated INECPRES channels to complete their applications.
Available ad hoc positions
INEC’s INECPRES platform lists several categories of election personnel, including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Registration Area Centre Managers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and Registration Area Technical Support personnel.
Applicants are expected to review the eligibility requirements for their preferred category before completing the registration process.
Application deadline
The application window will close at 12 midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
INEC has also stated on its official portal that registration for the 2027 general election ad hoc staff exercise is free. Applicants are advised not to pay anyone for application processing or shortlisting.
The commission has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, followed by the governorship and State House of Assembly elections on February 6, 2027.
