The funeral mass for the late Nollywood legend Olu Jacobs is taking place today, Friday, at This Present House on Freedom Way, Lekki Phase I, Lagos, where family members and dignitaries have come together to pay tribute to the actor.
Live coverage from Lufodo Productions showed Jacobs’ widow, actress Joke Silva, along with their sons, Olusoji and Olugbenga, present at the service, all dressed in blue.
As the funeral mass began, Jacobs’ casket was positioned at the front of the church, decorated with flowers.
Those announced at the service included Lagos State First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and his wife, Chief Mrs Oluremi Hamzat; former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; and former Ekiti State First Lady, Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi.
Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs, passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
The funeral comes after a Night of Tributes that was held on Wednesday, September 30, at Glover Memorial Hall, Marina, Lagos Island.
Guests at Friday’s funeral service were requested to wear shades of green, and a private burial will take place after the service.
