Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has stated that she will return to making movies after making her celebrity boxing debut against BBNaija winner Phyna.
Blessing lost the clash by knockout but described her first experience in the ring as a courageous feat, saying she had only trained for two days before the fight.
“Still a champion regardless of the result… even the blind knows who the winner is,” the actress wrote in an Instagram post on Friday.
“Now let’s go back to making movies cus I no be boxer.”
Despite the loss, Blessing said she would be willing to take part in another boxing bout.
“Will I do this again? OH YES,” she wrote in a separate post, while reflecting on the experience of stepping into the ring for the first time.
She stated that she had never raised her hands to fight anyone before the bout but stood on an unfamiliar stage with courage and “fought like a warrior.”
Blessing also devoted the moment to her late mother, Gloria Obasi Sunday, explaining that she wished her mother could have been there and had asked for her favorite song to be played as she made her way into the ring.
“Mummy, were you watching? Did you hear it too when they played your favorite song? I wanted you there, and that was the reason I requested that song,” she wrote.
She expressed her gratitude to Balmoral Promotions and Bet9ja for the chance, calling the experience one she would never forget.
