Serial Guinness World Record-breaker David Rush has bested his own record for balancing toilet paper rolls on his head, keeping 254 rolls balanced for more than a minute, United Press International (UPI) reported on Thursday.
Rush, who holds more than 200 Guinness World Records titles, initially set the Guinness World Records title for the most toilet paper rolls balanced on the head at 101 in 2021.
He eventually lost the title but regained it in May 2025 by balancing 195 rolls on his head.
Rush has now officially increased the record to 254 rolls following a successful attempt in October 2025.
“Stacking 254 rolls required permitted cardboard dividers, multiple sets of hands just to hoist the structure, and complete trust. On the first try, the familiar harmonic wobble set in, and hundreds of rolls scattered across the hardwood floor,” Rush wrote online.
On his second attempt, Rush surpassed the 30 seconds required by Guinness World Records and kept the toilet paper tower balanced on his forehead for one minute and 12 seconds.
In another development, a South Carolina man attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of socks said he has surpassed 2,000 pairs.
North Augusta resident Darryl Parker, a retired firefighter and paramedic, said his sock collection started with a Father’s Day gift, after which he began receiving more pairs for occasions including birthdays and anniversaries.
“My wife was like, ‘Yo, listen, you got so many socks here…’ my grandkids came and told me… ‘how about we try for the Guinness World Record?’” Parker told WRDW/WAGT. “I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s do it.’”
The current record is held by retired CBS Philadelphia news anchor Jim Donovan, whose collection was tallied at 1,531 unique pairs in 2025.
Parker said he already has over 2,000 pairs, but he plans to continue collecting until the end of the year before submitting his socks to Guinness World Records for official verification.
He said new socks donated by members of the public will be given to local shelters once he has secured the record.
