Devastating floods on the Nepal border have killed at least 987 people in Nepal, according to the disaster authority, bringing the total number of deaths to more than 1,000.
Chinese state media earlier acknowledged that 16 people were killed in Tibet, increasing the total death toll from Wednesday’s disaster to 1,003.
The number of missing people in Nepal fell to 3,916 as rescue attempts reached their seventh day, while the number of bodies retrieved increased.
In China, state media reports that 546 people are missing, bringing the total number of missing to 4,462.
There are 583 missing foreigners in Nepal, representing over 30 different nations.
There are 261 foreigners missing in China, representing 23 different countries.
According to New Delhi, Indians account for the majority of missing foreigners, with 275 citizens and another 128 people of Indian descent missing in Nepal.
On Sunday, the State Department said that 85 US citizens were missing.
According to sources, there are also 62 Ukrainians, 51 Malaysians, 42 Australians, and 33 British people, as well as representatives from the Nepalese tourist board and embassy.
In India, authorities in Uttar Pradesh state reported they had collected 17 remains from rivers coming from Nepal, all of which were suspected to be flood casualties.
Indian authorities are attempting to identify them, and they are not included in the toll.
