Former Vice-President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, will be the special guest of honour and seminar speaker at the fifth edition of the Open Day for Gardeners 2026 in Lagos.
Osinbajo, who is also Chairman of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, will speak on the theme “Leaving the Earth Better Than We Found It” at the Annual Garden Seminar.
The seminar is scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2026, at 12 noon at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC), 270 Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Open Day for Gardeners, an annual celebration of plants, gardens, nature and the people who love them, runs from August 28 to 30, 2026, at EPAC.
According to a statement by the organisers, the three-day event is free to attend and has grown from a gathering of garden lovers and plant enthusiasts into a community bringing together gardeners, conservationists, creatives, families, businesses and nature-inspired brands.
More than 50 vendors are expected at this year’s edition, offering visitors a chance to explore and shop for plants, soil, garden pots and planters, garden accessories, home fragrances, food and drinks.
The programme will also feature activities highlighting the different ways nature intersects with everyday life.
One of the major attractions is the Plant Swap, anchored by Dr Pamela Ajayi, founder of The Dawn Project. The initiative encourages participants to exchange plants, share gardening knowledge and promote biodiversity in urban communities.
Visitors can also explore the Handcrafter Garden, which celebrates creativity and craftsmanship, alongside Flowers in Vase, an exotic botanical showcase highlighting the beauty, diversity and artistry of plants and floral displays.
