Wasiu Ayinde, the ace Fuji singer popularly known as KWAM 1, has addressed a claim made by a woman that he abandoned her and their 12-year-old daughter, dismissing the matter during a stage performance.
In a recent interview with Feel Right TV, Ogechi Eleana, a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), and her daughter Azeezat accused the singer of refusing to take paternal responsibility.
Eleana claimed she dated KWAM 1 for over seven years before becoming pregnant with Azeezat.
She alleged that their relationship began when she provided manicure and pedicure services to the Fuji singer, later expanding to home services.
Eleana alleged that upon learning of her pregnancy, KWAM 1 advised her to abort and promised to send money through an aide for the procedure but the funds never arrived.
She said she later approached the late Kabiru Agbabiaka and visited a palace, where KWAM 1 allegedly denied her claims over the phone.
She also recounted a visit to the singer’s late mother, who reportedly recognised the child as bearing family resemblance and wept upon seeing her.
“When the girl was a year plus, I went to Kabiru Agbabiaka. He was alive then. We went to the palace and he called Wasiu on phone but he lied against me on the phone” Eleana said.
“His mother saw us, she looked at this baby and started tears. That was the first time I am seeing Wasiu Ayinde’s mother. She said ‘I am still alive and I have given birth to myself.’ The girl took the face of the mother.”
Azeezat, the young girl at the center of the dispute, said she last saw KWAM 1 on July 30, 2025, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, where he allegedly denied knowing them.
She revealed that the rejection inspired her to compose a song and expressed hope for a music career, while also appealing for financial support.
“I heard that my father is a billionaire if not a trillionaire. I was told that he has money. He should help me. I am tired. Things are not working. Tell him to help me,” she said.
In response, KWAM 1 addressed the allegations during a live performance, as seen in a now-viral video.
Singing on stage, the Fuji star dismissed the claims, referring to the pregnancy as “useless” and likening it to “a free gift”.
He also sang that “nobody should stress him at this point in his life,” laughing off the matter.
