Former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has shared details of his participation in the second in-person meeting of the Future of Development Cooperation Coalition (FDCC) in London.
In a post on Instagram, Osinbajo said he was pleased to reconvene with fellow commissioners and the FDCC secretariat alongside his co-chair, Arancha González Laya, for two days of discussions on the future of international development cooperation.
“Happy reconvening in sunny and hot London! with the Commissioners and Secretariat of the Future of Development Cooperation Coalition (FDCC) and my co-chair Arancha González Laya for our second in-person meeting,” he wrote.
The former vice president also welcomed commissioners Tamara Hasan Abed and Jasandra Nyker, noting that it was a special opportunity to meet them in person after they participated virtually in the coalition’s previous meeting.
Osinbajo added that the commissioners held an engaging session with Sebastian Mallaby, author of The Infinity Machine, focusing on artificial intelligence and its implications for the future of development cooperation.
According to him, Mallaby presented him with a signed copy of the book, describing the discussion as one that gave him “lots to think about.”
Concluding his post, Osinbajo stressed the importance of partnership in addressing global development challenges, stating: “The future of development cooperation is collaborative. Let’s build it.”
