Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court on Wednesday sentenced Saleh Mamman, former minister of power, to 75 years in prison for corruption related to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
The trial judge convicted Mamman on a 12-count charge and ordered that the prison terms run consecutively, bringing the total punishment to 75 years.
Justice Omotosho further ruled that the jail term begin on the day the defendant is captured.
The judge also ordered all security forces to arrest Mamman wherever he was found.
The court further ruled that all cash and properties recovered from the former minister be forfeited to the Federal Government, while instructing him to refund the remaining balance from the alleged N22 billion tied to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
