Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has criticized former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi for resigning from the African Democratic Congress.

Morka, in a post uploaded on X on Sunday, called Obi a “political rolling stone,” accusing him of switching parties in quest of an easier presidential ticket.

“Peter Obi, a political rolling stone that gathers no moss… roaming again in search of free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket… never willing to remain to build any party,” wrote.

He further claimed that Obi wants a road to power that does not include an internal party contest.

“He fantasises to be president on a ticket delivered only on a platter of gold… APGA – PDP – LP – ADC on to NDC,” Morka added.

The APC spokesman continued by referring to the former Anambra State governor as a “political drifter.”

“Fare thee well, Nigeria’s inconsolable political drifter,” he said.

Obi had previously announced his departure from the African Democratic Congress, citing internal party divisions and a hostile political atmosphere.

Obi said in a statement released on Sunday that his decision was made after much thought and persistent obstacles, like internal conflicts and divides that have diverted the party’s attention away from national issues.

He insisted that his departure was not owing to personal conflicts with party officials such as former Senate President David Mark or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, both of whom he said he still respected.

Obi also stressed that he is not seeking political office, emphasizing that his primary goal is to improve Nigerians’ well-being and develop a more functional society.

Despite his departure, he maintained his optimism in the country’s ability to produce competent and compassionate leaders, arguing that a better Nigeria is still possible.
