Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have eliminated two terrorists and arrested one bandit during separate security operations in Plateau State.

Chinonso Oteh, the task force’s media information officer, confirmed this in a statement released on Monday.

Oteh stated that the operations were carried out on April 4, 2026, in the Wase Local Government Area.

According to him, the operation included a series of clearance missions that targeted known insurgent passageways in Babangida, Adua, and Bokayi villages within the Dutsen Zaki forest.

According to Oteh, troops engaged suspected terrorists in a hard gunfight along the Babangida-Adua road, killing two and causing others to flee into the forest with varied degrees of gunshot wounds.

He claimed that forces found weaponry and ammunition at the scene, including a locally made pistol, a belt with 105 rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammo, 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a cutlass.

In another operation, forces stationed in the Namu District of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area apprehended four suspected terrorists after acting on credible intelligence about suspicious movements of armed individuals.

During the search, the suspects were discovered with 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Troops attempted to demolish their bunker but faced heavy fire from their colleagues.

“Amid the ensuing chaos, three of the four apprehended suspects attempted to escape and were subsequently neutralized by the adversary’s own gunfire,” he stated.

In a similar occurrence, troops from Shendam Local Government Area, along with local residents, apprehended a suspected kidnapper in Gidan Mangoro Village.

The suspect is alleged to be involved in a kidnapping that occurred in the town on April 3, 2026, and is currently in detention pending further investigation.

Oteh stated that the operations demonstrate the Nigerian military and local partners’ commitment to restoring peace and security in Plateau State.

He advised locals to be watchful and report any suspicious activity to security agencies while clearance operations continue throughout the state.
