Olympique Lyonnais have announced the arrival of Brazilian international forward Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa after reaching an agreement with Real Madrid for a paid loan move until the end of the season.
In a Tuesday statement titled “Endrick joins OL until the end of the season,” the French club announced, “Olympique Lyonnais is delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid for the arrival of Brazilian international forward Endrick, on a paid loan worth up to €1 million, until the end of the season.”
Lyon described the 19-year-old as a player already shaped by elite competition, stating that “at just 19 years of age, Endrick joins OL with already solid experience at the very highest level and a maturity forged in demanding competitive environments.”
According to Lyon, “His attacking profile, his impact in decisive areas, and his energy are major assets as the team heads into the second half of the season, with many objectives still to be achieved.”
Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa was born in Taguatinga, near Brasília. He started his football career at Palmeiras and became one of the most highly rated young players of his time.
Lyon shared the story: “Born in Taguatinga, near Brasília, Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa began playing football at the Palmeiras academy, where he quickly established himself as one of the most promising talents of his generation.”
The statement recognized his early success, calling him “a natural goalscorer” who “soon made a name for himself on the international stage, winning several individual and collective trophies at the youth level, notably at the prestigious Montaigu Tournament in 2022.”
Endrick’s quick rise continued at club level, with Lyon pointing out that “at just 16, he signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras and made his Brazilian league debut against Coritiba CFC.”
The club added that “The left-footed forward went from strength to strength, confirming his immense potential before committing to Real Madrid, whom he joined upon reaching adulthood in the summer of 2024.”
Prior to his move to Europe, Endrick—nicknamed “Bobby”—compiled an impressive record in Brazil, as Lyon stated that he “made 82 appearances for the São Paulo-based club, scored 21 goals, and won the Brazilian championship twice.”
Since arriving in Madrid, the Brazilian has continued to develop, with the club noting, “Since arriving at Real Madrid, Endrick has continued his development at the highest level.”
However, his contribution was underlined by the fact that “with 7 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, he has shown his ability to be decisive.”
Lyon also described him as “a fast, technical, and clinical forward,” adding that he “has also established himself with the Brazilian national team, moving from youth squads to the Seleção in just a few months.”
At the senior international level, the statement said that “at 19, he already has 14 caps and 3 goals for Brazil.”
Olympique Lyonnais confirmed his arrival date, saying they “are delighted to welcome Endrick, who will join the professional squad from 29 December,” and expressed appreciation to his parent club, adding that they “would like to thank Real Madrid for the quality of the discussions and cooperation that made his arrival possible.”
