Forbes has recognized Beyoncé as a billionaire, positioning her as the fifth artist to enter its ranking of the world’s richest individuals.

According to Forbes, the American artist has become part of a select group of musicians with 10-figure net worths, which includes Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and her spouse Jay-Z, whom the publication values at $2.5bn (£1.85bn).

At the beginning of this month, Forbes valued Beyoncé’s net worth at $800 million (£593 million) and forecasted that she would reach billionaire status for the first time after years of achievement.

Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour earned close to $600m, establishing her as one of the top pop music icons globally alongside Taylor Swift.

Beyoncé created a film of the concert performance from her first solo tour in seven years and released it through a deal with the AMC theater chain, earning nearly half of the film’s $44 million (£33 million) worldwide box office take.

Her album Cowboy Carter, set for release in 2024, honors and situates the African American origins of country music, receiving widespread praise and winning album of the year at the Grammy Awards—marking Beyoncé’s first victory for the esteemed prize after four nominations.

Forbes estimates that the Cowboy Carter tour, featuring guest appearances from Jay-Z, two of their three children, and former Destiny’s Child members, generated over $400 million in ticket sales and an additional $50 million in merchandise sold during the events.

Although the tour set ticket sales records at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and Stade De France in Paris, it faced challenges with sluggish ticket sales, prompting promoters to reduce certain prices to attract more attendees.

Nonetheless, it marked the highest ticket price for any artist performing in the UK in 2025 at £950, while the lowest was priced at £71.

A unique halftime performance for Netflix’s inaugural Christmas Day NFL game garnered an estimated $50 million, in addition to $10 million from a series of Levi’s advertisements, reported Forbes.

Bloomberg, which maintains its own billionaire index, featured Selena Gomez on its roster of musicians, with an estimated net worth of $1.3bn (£962m) in 2024.

However, Forbes contests this amount, estimating Gomez’s net worth at $700 million (£518 million) instead.
