    Former Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has reportedly passed away.

    Obiano reportedly died in a London hospital after battling severe heart failure and complications related to urinary cancer.

    Obiano served as governor of Anambra State from 2014 to 2022, succeeding Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

    Born on August 8, 1955, Obiano hailed from Aguleri in the Anambra East Local Government Area.

    He is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N4 billion fraud.
